Foundations of Culture 1. Describe the traditional way of indoor cooking in rural and semi- ¬urban areas of India, including the type(s) of fuel used for cooking. What types of foods are usually prepared? As many parts of India are yet not develop, the people in India still cook over an open fire inside their homes. Their stoves are composed of clay, but many steel use a three stone fire triangle elevated to a point where it is able to support a pot. Many Indian people still do not have natural gas running through their house like in the United State, so their alternatives to natural gas are wood, animal dung, agricultural waste, and charcoal. The Indian people are among some of the countries that uses animal dung while cooking, they believe that the animal dung purifies their ovens when it is burn. When cooking Indian people tend to use a lot of pieces when preparing their dishes, some of the dishes that are usually prepared depend of the region and religion. To the north of India they tend to eat a lot of flat bread the south tends to eat a lot of rice. Iago´s Facade in William Shakespeare´s Othello - 520 Words

â€Å"I am not what I am† (I i 71). In Shakespeare’s Othello no phrase describes the villainous Iago better than this. Iago hides behind the faà §ade of a loyal soldier while secretly manipulating the world around him not only for personal gain but also in order to ruin the lives of those he feels have wronged him. Even those close to Iago, such as his loyal servant Roderigo, who think they know him, are being deceived. Throughout the play Iago shows his ability to manipulate people based on their good traits, one key example being Othello. Iago ruins Othello’s life by abusing his sense of trust and exploiting his forceful nature. Iago abuses Othello’s trusting inclination in order both further his personal rank and ruin the lives of those he feels have wronged him. Trusting by nature, Othello initially refuses to see anything but the best in people, including Iago. Iago exploits this by making Othello believe things that are completely false. In Othello’s view Iago would not lie to him because he had no reason to and had never done so before. Iago does this because he feels he has been wronged when told that â€Å"[Cassio]†¦ must his lieutenant be†¦ and I his Moorship’s ancient† (I i 35).
